Company Profile
Interhom was
incorporated in September 1961 as a Private Limited Company. The name of
the company was changed in 1965 to 'Interhom Limited' from 'Interhom Trades
and Construction. The Company has financial arrangements with CITIBANK,
Banque Indosuez and Grindlays Bank for extensive Bonding and Borrowing
facilities.
Amongst others the main objectives of the Company are to design and execute
on turn-key basis or otherwise all Civil Engineering Works such as Roads,
Highways, Bridges, Airport Terminals, Runways, Dams, Aqueducts, Multi
Storeyed Buildings, Heavy Industrial Complexes, Public Health Works,
Nuclear Laboratories, Power Stations,
Cement Plants, Refineries and Infra-structure Projects
etc.
And also to undertake Development Works and services,
carrying out works on business and professional ethics of Engineers, Architects
and Consultants.
Interhom specializes in
reinforced and pre-stressed concrete structures. It has so far carried out
Civil Engineering Contracts of varying magnitude and nature and is today
amongst a few of the largest Civil
Engineering &
Contracting Companies of repute, operating in Pakistan.
Interhom has
successfully executed a large number of Construction Projects of (high)
National Importance. It has constructed most sophisticated Residential /
Office Multi Storeyed Building Complexes such as Pakistan Secretariat
Complex, Presidential Estate (the residence and Offices of the President of
Pakistan), Prime Minister's Residence, a Nuclear Complex for Pakistan
Atomic Energy Commission, National Library Building, Cabinet Block, OGDC
Head-office building & many more prestigious buildings in Islamabad
alone.
Besides above, Interhom has constructed
many other intricate works such as Heavy Industrial Complexes for numerous
establishments such as Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), expansion of
National Refinery at Karachi, Bin-Qasim Thermal Power Stations Units
3,4,5,6 at Karachi, Pak-Arab Fertilizer Factory at Multan, D.G.khan and
Bestway Cement factories etc. Whereas, few of other Civil Construction
projects comprised of various Residential Colonies, Office Buildings, Power
Stations, Laboratories, Hospital Complexes, Auditoriums, Bank Buildings and
other allied Structures.
Interhom has also
constructed a major portion of ‘The Pakistan Steel making Plant’ near
Karachi. This Project involved heavy RCC foundations, under water
construction of concrete structures of large dimensions. Water / Cable
tunnels of
various magnitude (over 5 Kilometers) extensive de-watering or sub-soil
water, intricate super-structure and multi-storeyed building for
Administrative & Operational Staff.
Recently
Interhom has executed a large Thermal Power Station for KESC at Bin
Qasim port, namely Unit 3, 4, 5 & 6 of 210 MW each, two large Cement
factories of 3300 Tons per day production, in D.G Khan and Hattar and a 21
storeyed building complex in Islamabad.
The Head Office of the Company is situated in Lahore. The company has
branch and regional offices, in Karachi and Islamabad, equipped with
complete technical and administrative staff and facilities. Interhom has a
Technical Collaboration Agreement for specialized Civil Projects of
gigantic magnitude with M/s HOCHTIEF of West Germany - one of World's
largest Civil Contractors.
